SoftSIM explained
SoftSIM is a fully software-based SIM solution. The network profile is downloaded from the cloud, and stored in the IoT device reusing the existing microcontroller. This microcontroller can either be part of the modem or radio module, or integrated into the embedded operating system. As a result, the SIM is stored and operated entirely as software. This approach enables the SIM to operate within trusted environments like ARM’s TrustZone or TPMs, ensuring secure operations.
