The XP™ series from Nesscap Energy Inc, are small-sized EDLC cells are offered at capacitances ranging from 3 to 50 farads, with an operating voltage of 2.7V. The dimensions and electrical specifications are identical to Nesscap's corresponding standard cells.
The ultracapacitor multi-cell modules from Nesscap are fully functional energy storage systems addressing energy and power requirements for multiple applications. Each module consists of three functional parts: the enclosure, the cells, and the patent pending ultracapacitor management unit (UMU).

These proven energy storage devices can replace conventional capacitors or batteries in applications that require much more energy than what conventional capacitors are able to provide or need higher power outputs than batteries can provide.

With a IP65 protection rating, the enclosure protects the cells and the associated components inside the module from environmental factors such as dust, moisture and water. The UMU cover houses a circuit that monitors the health of the module. These ultracapacitor multi-cell modules are available with operating voltages between 16V and 125V to satisfy higher voltage requirements of many integrated systems.

These standardized multi-cell modules can simply be connected in series to meet even higher voltage requirement. These modules are composed of large cylindrical cells target the automotive and industrial application such as transit bus and heavy duty vehicles.

Texim Europe recently introduced ultracapacitors from Nesscap. Ultracapacitors are proven energy storage devices that can replace conventional capacitors or batteries in applications that require much more energy than what conventional capacitors are able to provide or need higher power outputs than batteries can provide. Ultracapacitors are also known as supercapacitors, supercondensers or electric double layer capacitors (ELDCs). While many applications can benefit from ultracapacitors, the applications that would benefit the most are the ones that require quick charging and discharging with a large amount of energy.

Using ultracapacitors in conjunction with batteries combines the power performance of the ultracapacitors with the greater energy storage capability of the batteries. This can extend the life of the batteries and enable the battery systems to be downsized, all the while enhancing the overall performance by increasing the available energy for high peak power.

For example, only ultracapacitors can capture and store large amounts of re-generated electrical energy during braking and release it quickly for reacceleration in hybrid vehicles.

The ultracapacitor is environmentally-friendly, helps to conserve energy, and enhances the energy-saving performance of other devices when used in conjunction.
