RRC Power Solutions released the upgraded version of their RRC-PMM240 power management module. Compared to the earlier version the standby current decreased to a typical 1mA resulting in a longer battery life. Next to this the minimum input voltage dropped to the battery charge voltage +1V and the output current increased to 10A max., with an 12A application output fuse. The battery discharge current increased to 10A max.

The VARTA Microbattery CoinPower® series are lightweight lithium-ion rechargeable micro batteries featuring 3.7V with a maximum capacity of 100mAh. The energy density is up to 30% higher than comparable products, therefore these lightweight button cells are suitable for Bluetooth, portable, and wearable technology applications. These button cells are free of lead, mercury and cadmium.

The
CP 1254, CP1454 and CP 1654 feature capacities of 50, 85 and 100mAh respectively and boast low impedance, an extended shelf life of > 1 year, and fast charge capability. Certified to IEC 62133/UL 1642 safety standards, these batteries offer optimized drain capability (CP 1654 up to 500 mA continuous) and may be recharged over 500 full cycles while maintaining at least 90% initial capacity. The cells use the CC/CV (constant current-constant voltage) charging method and exhibit virtually no swelling due to their scratch-resistant stainless steel enclosure.

The RRC1120/1130 from RRC Power Solutions are Li-Ion Smart Single Cell battery packs, characterized by a slim and compact design with high energy density. The special feature of the 1S1P configuration consists in the use of smart technology features in combination with a prismatic Li-ion cell.
Next to the CellPac LITE (range of standard Lithium-Ion packs), VARTA Storage GmbH now introduces the CellPac BLOX semi-custom service. CellPac BLOX suits those customers in need of semi-customization and where design-cycles, engineering costs and time to market must be minimized for success. Battery designs are limited in their complexity, but available for nearly no NRE cost and development effort.

You can choose the battery configuration, cells, capacity combination PCM and connector. Up to 25 samples can be ordered to test and validate the design.

There is an NRE (Non-Recurring Engineering) charge. NRE is kept as low as possible. Your battery will be a new design, with its own part number. As well as the new drawing, there will be manufacturing and quality documentation established. Fixtures will be produced to ensure repeatable quality and UN38.3 testing and certification is mandatory.

The CellPac BLOX battery can be certified for special requirements, such as IEC62133 edition 2.
Additional certification is possible for medium-to-high volume projects but more time and effort is involved. Please discuss your individual requirements with us.

RRC Power Solutions has expanded its product portfolio with three additional high energy standard Li-Ion SMBus battery packs. These batteries are SMBus & SBDS Rev 1.1 compliant, meet the JEITA standards (required for export to Japan) and have worldwide approvals and certificates such as UN38.3.

The RRC2040-2 is a 3S2P pack with 11.25V, 6400mAh and 72Wh. Two additional batteries are the RRC2054 and RRC2057, which share the same housing dimensions, but have different ratings. The RRC2054 is a 4S1P unit with 15V, 3200mAh and 48Wh. The RRC2057 has a 2S2P cell configuration with 7.5V, 6400mAh and 48Wh.

The temperature-dependent load profiles of the batteries increase safety and also lead to a maximized cycle life of the batteries. Used in combination with RRC's plug-and-play battery chargers, they can be optimized and accelerate charging. By using the Impedance Track technology, you will no longer need to manually calibrate the battery. The use of Cell Balancing leads to maximum available capacity and to longer life. The battery packs have comprehensive charge/discharge safety systems as well as passive safety electronics, and worldwide agency certification approvals, and international recycling support.

The RRC products are available for all our customers in Europe. For shipments that demand airfreight additional expensive transport cost will be charged and destinations are very limited by new strict UN IATA regulations.

CellPac LITE from VARTA Microbattery is the standard range of lithium-rechargeable battery products. The CellPac LITE is available in a range of pre-configured battery packs, for immediate use in standard applications. They are exclusively made from cylindrical or prismatic form-factor cells.

These power packs are equipped with an electronic protective circuit module (PCM) with additional overcurrent protection. All cells used comply with the requirements of the safety standard UL1642 and many packs are certified to additional safety standards UL2054 or IEC62133 2nd edition.

The 3 Cylindrical & 1 Prismatic types have a State of Charge <30 % (IATA Guideline for Li-ion bulk transportation by Air). Be advised, for batteries packed with or contained in equipment (UN 3481) there is no SoC limitation.
